Dance

“Dance is the hidden language of the soul.” – Martha Graham

@D2Bstudios

I recently started lyrical dance. The main reason I began was because, it’s beautiful, good exercise and emotional. I have fallen in love it, the movement, the feeling and the hard work you put into it.

My dance teachers have helped me realise that dance is something to enjoy and love, but also something that requires effort, consistency and daily practice. 👯‍♀️

I love how dance physically challenges my body; the strength, flexibility, and control you need. (Even tho the cramps are not my favourite part 😂)

This is something I really, really want to be good at, something I can physically express myself through.

Dancers in my life that I look up to:

Of course my dance teachers, they are beautiful inside and out, they inspire me and motivate me. Leila is an amazing dancer ( https://www.instagram.com/lildancer_official?igsh=MWc1azJhNzg1b25jcw== )

(I have 3 more dance teachers that are incredibly talented and kind). 😋

Hazel Cherian, one of my closest friends, she is passionate, kind and pretty (and has a yt channel https://youtube.com/@itsthatpair?si=FYzVefN8KliomNNr ). Her dance styles include theatrical, Bharatnatyam and Kuchipudi (classical Indian dances). 😋

Amé does dance classes with me and she also recently started lyrical dance. We keep each other in check and remind each other to practice. Amé never fails to make me laugh and apparently my Afrikaans is very entertaining to her. 😂

Maggie is an amazing, talented dancer and she does so many dance styles, I honestly can’t keep up. She is talented, pretty and definitely one of the dancers I look up to the most. She goes to A LOT of competitions and I aspire to be like that one day soon.

Kaylee is a kind, very pretty and an amazing dancer. Kaylee also does multiple dance styles and I hope to become a closer friend of her’s. She and Maggie train at the same studio and whenever Maggie shows me videos of them dancing (while we’re at school 😂) I’m always so impressed.

Overall, dance has become something I truly love and want to grow in. I’m grateful to have these people in my life that I look up to. I’m excited to keep learning, improving and expressing myself through dance.

Thank you for reading this extremely long blog. I hope it touched the hearts of those who I mentioned and even the ones I didn’t.
